DAY FIFTEEN
SAN DIEGO ZOO
Today we got to go to the San Diego Zoo! We, along with
Lily’s family drove about 40 minutes to get down there.
The parking lot was
packed, but once we found a spot we entered to see the Flamingo Lagoon!
We
grabbed some (overpriced of course) snacks, and started along the Hippo Trail
and started seeing all of the monkeys.
The San Diego Zoo is cool, because instead of feeling like you’re
walking around a theme park, it’s more like actually being out in the wild. The
trails are multi level and surrounded by interesting trees and flora.
We kind
of got stuck on the left side of the zoo, where most of the monkeys, hippos,
tigers, and birds were, and couldn’t figure out how to get to the other side.
After stopping to eat lunch, we went back to the front of the park and started
walking over towards the Elephants.

We saw the weirdest looking camel I’ve even
seen, and finally made it over to the elephants. It was nice to see them
especially since Philly doesn’t have any anymore!
After walking around more, we
took the Skyfari ride back to the front of the park, spent some time in the
gift shop, and then rode back home. We got some bbq from a famous place and
spent the rest of the night playing and relaxing!
